Minimalistic birational p-adic section conjecture for varieties

Abstract. In this talk I will formulate and prove a "minimalistic form" of the p-adic birational section conjecture for complete smooth varieties. This is a wide extension and a direct generalization of the corresponding assertion for projective smooth curves. The proof relies on the curve case and employs the theory of "rigid elements" to finally move beyond the case of curves.
